Skincare/ makeup mistakes you might be making.

Hello beautiful! I'm back with another blog post. I've been chatting to family and friends a lot recently about makeup and skincare and I realised that a lot of us are making mistakes sometimes without realising! This post is mainly about skincare but I suppose makeup comes into it a bit too.

1. not using SPF everyday

This is something I've heard a lot about recently and I'm not gonna lie I only understood the importance of this about a year ago. I would always look at my skin and see all of the dark pigmentation but didn't realise it was exposure to the sun that was causing it. You should be wearing SPF on your face every single day, yes even during the Winter! There are so many brands of facial SPF available and some of the drugstore ones really aren't expensive. My favourite is the Simple Protect n Glow Radiance Booster. You should apply SPF even when you're wearing makeup as it helps to protect your skin from damage and helps to prevent premature skin ageing.

2. Not washing your makeup brushes often enough.

This is quite a common mistake that I've seen a lot of people make. You should be washing your makeup brushes at least once a week. You need to remember that they are touching your face every day but when they're being stored its when they start to collect bacteria. Using unclean makeup brushes can cause breakouts and sometimes even dermatitis so please clean your makeup brushes. I BEG YOU!!! I've recently been using the Spectrum Collections brush cleaner from their Cinderella collection and it's really quick and easy to use. Oh and it's Pumpkin scented *heart eyes*.

3. Not using a Primer.

As NikkieTutorials says 'not to prime is a crime' Primer allows your makeup to look to much smoother. It also helps your makeup to stay in place and gives you a more even looking complexion.

4. Not taking off your makeup before you go to bed

This is such a huge mistake. I beg you pleaseeeeeeeeee take off your makeup! During the day makeup acts like a magnet collecting pollutants and bacteria so imagine what leaving it on overnight will do! I'm not perfect and I have made this mistake in the past but my skin did not thank me for it as I had a terrible breakout. Not only that but there was extra laundry as my pillowcase was orange!

That's all for todays post I hope you found it useful and maybe there will be a part two...

See you next time!
