Lip Filler Q&A
Hello beautiful people! I'm back again! I've been meaning to write this blog post for over a month now but life has been hectic lately. I've finally sat down at my makeshift desk (a foldaway table in the living room) with my coffee and I'm ready to write!
I posted a question box on my Instagram stories a few days after I'd had my lip fillers done and there were a few questions from you guys so let me answer them!
What made you go for it?
I had been thinking about it for a few years as I didn't like the shape/size of my lips especially when it came to wearing makeup. Lipstick just didn't suit me and I felt like my lips didn't stand out much. It's definitely boosted my confidence even though it's only a subtle change and it's made me feel a bit more adventurous when it comes to choosing a shade of lipstick. It's also made me more confident about my smile.
Does is hurt?
Honestly it didn't hurt for me at all! I got them done by a family member who is a qualified professional as well as a qualified nurse so she had a very steady hand and she used numbing cream which completely numbed my lips (a very strange sensation, a bit like going to the dentist haha). You can still feel it but it's more of a tugging sensation rather than a stinging sensation.
Was it as painful as people said and how much research did you do beforehand?
Again, no it wasn't painful, I think getting your ears pierced hurts more but it depends on what your pain threshold is I guess. It did sting a teeeeeeny bit where the lip is thinner but it lasted seconds and didn't bother me one bit. It didn't bruise either which I've seen happen to some people. Research wise; I did a lot of research! It took me a year or two to really come to the decision to have them done and I watched a lot of Youtube videos/ asked my family member a lot of questions to make sure I was making the right decision. It's always important to do research before hand and to find a professional who is qualified to perform the procedure as things can go wrong and you need to be in safe hands! Do your research on the practice/ person and look at what qualifications they have as well as their previous work.
How long does it last?
They can last anywhere from 4 to 12 months it depends on how fast your body absorbs it. I guess it also depends on how much filler you have.
Thank you all so much for your questions, I hope this helped you if you are thinking about getting lip fillers yourself or if you're just curious about my experience.
See you all soon!
Laura x
